Dirk Inger

Managing Director (DRV)
Dirk Inger (born in 1966) took up the position of Managing Director of the German Travel Association (DRV) in Berlin on 2014. Before he was a Deputy Director General for Climate Charge, Environmental Policy and Electric Mobility in the Federal Ministry for Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI).

Dirk Inger studied Political Sciences, German and History at the University of Cologne. After completing his Master's degree, he embarked on a career in journalism, worked as a trainee at Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) and among other assignments he worked for ZDF television and WDR television. After more than seven years as an editor and reporter, Inger, who was born in Düsseldorf, moved into the public service sector where he became Deputy Spokesman in the Ministry of the Interior in 2000.

At the beginning of 2005 he became Head of Communication in the Federal Ministry for Transport, Construction and Urban Development, and during this period he was the press spokesman for Federal Ministers Stolpe and Tiefensee. From 2007 to 2010 he worked in the Federal Transport Ministry as a Deputy Director General for Strategic planning, international policy and climate protection.
Dirk Inger is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the DRV employer's association (DRV-T).
